Deliver Functional Care in a High-Demand Urban Community
@Home Therapy is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide in-home services to adult patients in the Astoria area. This role focuses on helping individuals maintain or improve independence in daily routines while navigating the challenges of dense, multi-unit urban housing.
You’ll work with a culturally diverse patient population and provide practical, real-world functional support in home environments.
Compensation & Incentives:
- $500 bonus after 50 completed visits.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Home-Based Functional Assessment:
- Evaluate patient ability to complete daily living tasks in apartment-based environments.
- Identify barriers related to space, mobility, and accessibility.
Adaptive Skill Development:
- Support patients with grooming, dressing, bathing, and meal preparation.
- Focus on efficiency and safety within limited-space living environments.
Environmental Strategy Implementation:
- Recommend practical adaptations to improve safety and independence.
- Train patients on compensatory techniques tailored to their home layout.
Caregiver Education Support:
- Reinforce guidance provided by supervising therapists.
- Help maintain continuity of care strategies between visits.
Clinical Documentation:
- Complete visit notes using a web-based EMR system.
- Maintain compliance with documentation and regulatory standards.

Flexible Scheduling:
- Set your availability and manage your caseload independently.
Urban Community Coverage:
- Provide care across Astoria and surrounding Queens neighborhoods with high patient demand.
Operational Support:
- Scheduling and administrative coordination handled by the office team.
Scalable Caseload:
- Opportunity to increase visit volume based on preference.
Qualifications:
- Active New York State Occupational Therapist license.
- Experience with adult or geriatric populations preferred.
- Strong ability to adapt therapy to real-world home environments.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based setting.
